The Dock Museum

How did Barrow grow from a tiny 19th century hamlet into one of the world’s major ship building forces in just 40 years? Discover this and more at Barrow’s very own Dock Museum. A spectacular building created over an original Victorian graving dock, the site also offers scenic Channelside walks linking to the Cumbria Coastal Way. Furness Abbey

Built entirely out of sandstone, Furness Abbey was once one of the richest Cistercian abbeys in England. Set in a beautiful and peaceful valley, the ruins of this majestic abbey are a popular tourist attraction.
